The Theatrical Skills Camp is a FREE program thanks to the generous support of Mt. Carmel. Our camp offers tailored instruction for different age groups. Through dynamic and interactive activities, students will explore stage presence, creative expression, and collaborative storytelling, all while fostering a sense of confidence and teamwork in a fun and inclusive setting. Schedule: •Ages 6-8: 10:30 - 11:30 am A specialized one-hour session introducing younger children to foundational theater concepts in an engaging and supportive environment. •Ages 8-18: 1:00-3:00 pm A comprehensive two-hour session focusing on all aspects of theatrical performance. Teaching Artists: Vinnie Gumlich, Virginia Jimenez and Krystal Wright Objectives of the Camp: •Develop core theatre skills in youth. •Provide a creative outlet that enhances self-expression and confidence. •Foster teamwork and communication through collaborative exercises. •Introduce theatre terms and stage direction fundamentals. •Engage families by offering a skill-sharing session to celebrate participant growth. Skill-Sharing Session: Rather than a formal performance, the camp will conclude with an informal skill-sharing session, allowing participants to demonstrate their learning progress to friends and family. This approach encourages a supportive atmosphere where campers can take pride in their development without the pressures of a traditional performance. Friday, March 21st: •Sharing for Ages 6-8 at 11:15am •Sharing for Ages 8-18 at 2:30pm •Sharings will take place on the Main Stage Youth Club Involvement: Youth Club of Trinidad is going to participate in the spring break camp Monday, March 17th - Wednesday, March 19th. If you'd like to take advantage of the transportation and other programming that the Youth Club of Trinidad provides on those dates, please be sure to register your child with the Youth Club! You can find the registration packet here. You may also call Patrick Walsh at 719-422-8090.
