Main Street LIVE is always looking for individuals with or without prior acting experience to expand our group of actors. We keep a mailing list of all potential actors who are notified when auditions for upcoming productions are scheduled. Come join our team and get an opportunity to perform on our stage.
Our Next Audition:
Little Women: The Musical
Director Eric Shephard will be holding auditions for "Little Women: The Musical" by Allan Knee, Jason Howland & Mandi Dickstein . The show requires 6 female and 3 male actors/singers. Auditions will be held on the following dates/times:
Friday, February 28th @ 5-7pm
Saturday, March 1st @ 12-2pm
How to Audition:

Prepare 32 bars (about a minute) from your favorite Musical Theatre song that shows your range

Be prepared to have your vocal range determined by our Musical Director

Be prepared to read a short passage from the script--which will be available ahead of time.

Here are the roles:

Jo March: Our story's protagonist. Passionate, adventurous, and brave. She has the idea of writing Little Women and eventually becomes engaged to Professor Bhaer. Vocal part: Mezzo-soprano

Professor Bhaer: German Professor who exemplifies proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk's boarding house and eventually falls in love with Jo. Vocal part: Baritone

Amy March: The youngest, most energetic sister with a rather pompous air about her. She later marries Laurie. Can double as Troll. Vocal part: Mezzo

Meg March: The world-weary, yet hopeful, oldest sister who yearns for a great life. She marries John and has twins with him. Can double as Clarissa. Vocal part: Mezzo

Beth March: The second youngest sister who tragically dies of Scarlet Fever. Peace-maker, lover, and an optimist who is always encouraging her sisters to dream. Can double as Rodrigo II. Vocal part: Mezzo

Marmee March: The girls' mother. She is the strong backbone of the family, who is courageous in spite of the difficult odds she faces. Can double as Hag. Vocal part: Mezzo

Mr. Laurence/Laurie Laurence: The bright-eyed boy-next-door with considerable charm. He loves Jo but later falls in love with Amy. Vocal part: Baritone

Aunt March: A formidable, over-bearing matron and great-aunt to the March sisters. The wealthy socialite in town. Can double as Mrs. Kirk. Vocal part: Alto

Mr. John Brooke: Laurie's tutor and a rather stiff man; shows very little emotion. He later marries Meg and changes. Vocal part: Baritone
PLAY DESCRIPTION:

The original production starred the unparalleled Sutton Foster, who received Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations for her performance. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself."
Performances will be held April 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 27th; May 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
